Even if the pictures aren't technically great (focus, composition, etc..), I think it turned out pretty cute.

Today is my dad's birthday. (Happy Birthday, Dad!!) This was his birthday present this year. Yes, I got the idea from pinterest. ( http://pinterest.com/pin/30188259971969623/ ) This was much harder to execute than I anticipated it being. For starters, I shot it with my iPhone camera since my Nikon hasn't been released from the hospital yet. (Please, no flowers.) Secondly, what the hell was I thinking taking my 2 year old to a park and expecting him to sit for pictures? Big time fail. And thirdly, I kinda forgot other people exist in the universe. I had to photoshop a little girl out of the background of these pictures.

This week's challenge was "Made With Love"
My grandmother gave me this silver bell for Christmas in 2000. This was the last Christmas she was alive. The bell is inscribed with my name and the year. Even though this is a Christmas bell, I keep it on the shelf by my bed all year long.
Looking at this picture is the first time I have really realized how badly it needs to be polished. Part of me wants to polish
it so it is as pretty and shiny as it was the day I got it. Another part of me feels like in its current state, it is a relic from 12 years ago. I think I like the relic.
Well.. shortly after I decided to participate in My3Boybarian's themed P52 challenge, I had a little mishap with my camera. It will be spending some time in the Nikon hospital. (Sad face.) I thought I was going to miss out on a few weeks of the challenge, but I've decided to use the camera on my spiffy new iPhone to take the weekly pictures until my D5100 is released from the hospital.
Week 1's challenge was "Resolution".
My resolution this year? 1. To complete the Couch to 5K program; and 2. To actually, you know, sign up for and complete a 5K.

Welcome to 2012!! I spotted a challenge on Facebook called Project 52, or P52. It's a photography challenge. They post a theme each week, and you take and post a picture with that theme in mind. Sounds like fun to me! I think I'll give it a try.
